NORTHERN SURGICAL RESEARCH NETWORK

The Northern Surgical Research Network (NSRN) is a student-led collaborative dedicated to delivering high-quality surgical research across the North of England while fostering a strong culture of academic engagement among students and junior doctors.

Our aim is to improve patient outcomes through robust research, while equipping future clinicians with the skills needed to design, conduct, and disseminate impactful studies.

As part of our commitment to teaching and development, we have introduced a structured Research Masterclass series, covering key principles such as study design, data collection, and academic writing.

To ensure participants are adequately prepared for involvement in ongoing projects, attendance at a minimum of two masterclass sessions is required for project allocation. This approach ensures all members have a solid foundation in research methodology and can contribute meaningfully to collaborative work.
