SURGE – Main Conference 2026

SURGE 2026 is Scalpel Surgical Society’s 18th annual main conference exploring the future of surgery through key themes including the future operating theatre (AI, robotics and digital surgery), the evolving role of the human surgeon (leadership, communication and ethics), surgical education and training, as well as innovation and global surgical impact. The conference will consist of keynote lectures, panel discussion on surgical R&D, student oral and poster presentations, as well as afternoon workshops and brand new Surgical Council MUN-style debate session.

This event will be held on Saturday, 28th November 2026 at the University Place (University of Manchester), 176 Oxford Rd, Manchester M13 9PL.
