Lister Surgical Skills Competition
The College is delighted to announce the launch of a nationwide surgical skills competition aimed at senior medical students. Students throughout the UK will have the opportunity to compete in one of 17 regional heats being held around the UK from September to December 2011. Those judged to have the best surgical skills will then compete in the Grand Final in Edinburgh during February 2012 as part of the Lister Centenary Celebrations. Sound good so far? Well ...

Professor Harold Ellis Medical Student Prize for Surgery
There is now just one week left until the closing date for entries to the Professor Harold Ellis Medical Student Prize for Surgery. The winner receives £500 and the top three entries also receive £100 for their surgical society so it’s well worth entering. Also, a national prize is always a great line in your portfolio!
