Hasan Mohammad, Events Director (lectures lead)

My names Hasan Mohammad and I’m a Third year Medical Student based at Salford Royal Foundation Trust. I am the Lecture Events Director for the Scalpel comittee.

The concept of curing someone’s long term problems so drastically through a single operation is the main reason I decided to pursue a career in Surgery. Surgery combines the Science and Art of Medicine together brilliantly.

For example there may be many viable operations for a patient, but you as a Surgeon must tailor the patient’s needs to find the operation which suits them best by analysing their history and expectations. To add to this, the actual procedure of Surgery involves innovation, lateral thinking and the ability to think clearly under pressure. Not to mention all the gadgets!

I am really passionate about a career in Surgery and look forward to all the challenges it brings.

As lecturer director of Scalpel I hope to give all Medical students a deep insight into all the Surgical specialities out there. If you have any recommendations for the lectures feel free to contact myself. Don’t worry I don’t bite!
